You're going to waste a lot of time doing that then. Ported>everything else for loud factor.

I get trying to make an exotic box, but manipulating a wave like what you have planned is going to result in lost efficiency, BIG time. A straight forward bass reflex enclosure will impress when it's designed well.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I'm not sold on putting a baseball through a garden hose AJ...

I'll be curious what Hunter reports back when he hears it :)

I REALLY do hope it works out and the thing is a monster on that enclosure. I'm just a fan of a much simpler design.

i just like to experiment. as op keeps posting, he wants different boxes. the last 14 years has been sealed, ported, 4th and 6th. time for change

I'm just as curious, plus now that i have such a good box, I'm not out anything if the dcbr fails. well besides $50

i just reread my post. i think it was a Lil confusing.

when i said "I'm sure you'll like it".i didn't mean the output and sound.

i meant the idea of it. OP seemed to be looking for odd boxes. thats why i showed him it, and said to do some research.

i was looking into 4ths before i came across This.

but it is a fun box to design.

I love the trial and method going on here, but I've found over the years that the best sound to me (home and vehicle) is the simple, well designed for specific driver built ported and tuned (MUSICAL) enclosures.

It's carried me a long way in the car audio realm over the years.

Now if I had time to experiment, I'd like to try for a "folded horn" or "wave guide" enclosure setup. Although I'd never have any practical use for them ... LOL

nothing about several batteries, hundreds of pounds of wood, subs, as mps, deadner is practical.

but agreed, my current box is by far the best sounding box I've ever made. but it's fun to try!

hell if we all stopped after our first system none of us would.be here!

I don't know really. im just drawing boxes to see what people think and see if I can get some info on if its a good idea or not. I want to build an uncommon subwoofer box that sounds better than everyones normal sealed/ported boxes..

i just like to experiment. as op keeps posting, he wants different boxes. the last 14 years has been sealed, ported, 4th and 6th. time for change

I'm just as curious, plus now that i have such a good box, I'm not out anything if the dcbr fails. well besides $50

You guys want different than most people and sounds better? Do a build with passive radiators if you can manage it. I'm going back to them if at all possible.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
