Kade
First, have a RF P3D2-10 running on a P1000X5. The past week my sub has been cutting off and on while driving on no particular terrain. All my wiring is snug. How should I go about diagnosing the problem? Second, is there a good time of the year to install sound dampening like dynamat? i.e. is it too cold for the mat to stick this time of the year? 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. Noel989
1. If you have a second amp or borrow one that you know it works swap in if the problem continues is not the amp and you can eliminate that option. And triple check every inch of each wire then double check that 2. Can't really help but I've read people when it's cold it's harder to mold onto the contours. So heat gun or sun Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
Aj11
just leave the deadner in the house. maybe near a heater... under a lamp. and just grab a sheet or 2. I've installed in the winter plenty of times. 90% of the time its fine. but depending on how cold and what temp it is it can be a pain. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
SnowDrifter
Wait till summer when it's hot out. You'll get much better adhesion when both the application surface and deadener are warm and pliable. Is your amp protecting? Is it cutting out for seconds/minutes at a time or is it just popping out for a second? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Is it cutting out for seconds/minutes at a time or is it just popping out for a second? I haven't checked for protect, but it's a 5-channel amp. Wouldn't the whole amp shutdown? My speakers continue to the play. Only the sub falls out for about 2 seconds at a time. SnowDrifter
Verify connections are good on the RCAs. Including the back of the head unit and any bass knob you have Also pop your sub out of the box and check all the wires and connections are in good condition. Inspect the tinsel leads for any breakage or burning ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
RooTxBeeR
Where are your grounds for the amp? And it's way easier in warmer weather to do deadening. Kade
Looked at all of your suggestions for the sub channel going in and out. I've found a pattern. My bluetooth connection on the phone side trips up sometimes. It's barely noticable for the highs depending on volume and type of music I'm playing. The sub signal just has a latecy when recovering from the bluetooth signal drop. No idea where to begin fixing that. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. Kade
Maybe your voltage is dropping too low hmmmm, I never get any headlight dimming or weak starts. Should I get a new battery? Or bigger battery? The birthsheet says this amp is 1476w or something in the 1400s. I wouldn't think I need a performance battery for that. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire.
