I built the box myself got the design from car audii fab. From mike and it was a really tight fit had to remove the trunk latch cover to fit it in. So I only have a lil gap on the left side for an extra bat. The space behind the box is where I have my 3 amps and cap on a piece of wood that goes around that lil hump in the middle of the back of the trunk

Maybe you can get rid of the cap for some $, and then...

black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp

OEM head unit, Amplifiers :  Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

just depends on what your future plans are really. if you plan on running a bank of 1200s then i see no issue. as far as it matching the front battery, they are the same type of battery so that's not an issue. if you plan on using 3400s in the future, then just go ahead and get one of those now.

I dont plan on running anymore then 2 batteries in my ride since im not gona add anymore amps or speakers just wana make sure I have plenty of power to provide my system what it needs without any issue so thats why I was looking at the d1200 dont think I need that much more then that just didnt want to run into any issue since ita not a d3400

While saving a buck and moving ahead with your project seems like a great idea right now let me tell you that down the road you will wish you ha stuck with identical batts. What if you decide to add two more? then are you going to run 4 identical batts with one that is not? What about the dangers of the batteries degrading eachother quickly over time? Youre talking about $50 more here to do it correct, if that much is breaking you then my bad.

^^ so there is no issue of the batteries degrading over time, as long as they are both agm its fine, right?

since you are not running 20,000 watts you should be fine

but is it worth the risk over $50 more?

It looks like you guys have made up your minds already but I am at the point in my life where I want everything done right the 1st time around
