Help: Sundown woofers In an extended cab Silverado.

Recommended Posts

Okay I'm trying to avoid a Vs thread, but mods feel free to lock this if I'm breaking the rule. I'm doing an install in a truck replacing two jl w3 10s. Sundown subs are going into the truck so no brand wars please.

Basically the facts:

RF-1200watt rms amp

~3 cubic ft box tuned around 35hz. The guy asked me and I didn't know how to answer so he wanted to know in those Conditions will two downfiring SA-12s or 4 forwardfiring E-8s be louder on music to the ear.

I only ask because I haven't heard the e8. So I have no reference for comparison.

Life's a trip. . . Don't fall.

2 12s is slightly more cone area, box may be too small for the SAs though?

What does Sundown recommend for space?

If your not in a hurry and are after sundown woofers id strongly wait for the SD-3 model to be released, not sure what sizes they are all coming in but 10s for sure, and most likely 12s..

They look beefy and with the inverted surround its going to give you potentially more box space to work with since the box wont have to be raised up as high to give the woofer extra room for excursion and the surround.
