kryptonite
OEM adaptation, gotta love it when your alternator builder knows what they're doing A bit nicer looking A bit bigger too Having been told someone else, Berto i believe, has made this casing fit on the 5.0 as well, i knew that i'd be making some modifications to make her fit properly. The new casing is a good inch deeper which would encroach on the valve cover space, which I can't hammer in because of the rockers. 2.5" spacers are needed to lift the alternator up over the valve cover, to which even the spacer leaves 1/8" of space between the casing and the cover, i got lucky lol. This put the alternator in line with the throttle body and covered nearly 2/3s of the intake, custom intake part 2 coming up lol Not gonna need that back mount anymore so sent it back to Singer for some more modification. If anyone is looking for an alternator builder that understands your needs, takes the time to call you and take your calls about mods and upgrades, Mike Singer is your guy. I've tried other builders and i keep coming right back to Singer. kryptonite
Factory mounting bolts are a m10 which would work if need be, but with the spacer size and how much i beat on this motor, coupled with the rear mount delete, i wanted to make sure i had enough beef in the front mounts. Decided the only option is to bump it up to a 1/2" threaded rod. She don't fit, more modification needed Gotta modify the vehicle side mount Alot of in between pics i wasn't able to get of the rethread, the headache of the holes being crooked and further modification needed but she's in and functioning D3400 out and D6500 installed with some SHCA terminals and wiring, temporary wiring option until i get amps and batteries sorted in the rear.
