Joe X
What would you be working with? Hope is not for music, that looks like a burp box for a high excursion 8" sub.

He's just toying around with a small sub, a 6.5 or 8 I can't remember. No clue what he's doing with it, I was just given a size and tune. 2014 JKU Sound: pioneer xav-65 4 12in pioneer tsw3003d4 2 pioneer gm-d9601 (much more in route) General: 18in worx rims 33in tire stinger src bumpers light bars 6k hids 2in leveling kit 3.25in lift The Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195839-2014-jku-build-4-12s/
Joe X
Better be given the sub model and the application or it's going to be a failure, 40 square inches of port area for an 8" even at that high tune is a lot and routing the port would likely be very difficult and most likely unnecessary. philrab
Did I read that right and you have 23 square inches of port for a 1.47 cube gross box? That's a shit ton of port area for that small a box IMHO. For comparison, that's a smaller box and more port area than my SA12 is in.What sub are you building for, and what is the recommended box size/port size from the manufacturer? 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. After me telling him that 5 other people agree hes finally decided to let me do it the way i told him. I was more worried about what i did wrong in torres because i knew the box was all messed up. 2014 JKU Sound: pioneer xav-65 4 12in pioneer tsw3003d4 2 pioneer gm-d9601 (much more in route) General: 18in worx rims 33in tire stinger src bumpers light bars 6k hids 2in leveling kit 3.25in lift The Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195839-2014-jku-build-4-12s/

Had to ask, cause it did look way off at first glance. I hate to pass judgement till I know the whole story, but that much port area in that small of a gross much less net area just didn't look right. 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount.
