dcarroll1002 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Report Posted February 10, 2015 A good friend of mine has convinced me to go with some 12s. after measuring my trunk i can put a box in thats 14 high x 39 wide x 46 deep. Also im looking at about $300 -$325 for the pair.Again thanks for the responses and any input is appreciated.
Cj Kumz Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 Personally I think going for a single beefy 18" for around $300 is better than 2 $150 12" subs. Like the soundqubed hdc3 18 is around that price (just a suggestion). Plus not forgetting a single 18 has more cone area than 2 12s Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!

Why not buy 1 quality 12 now and buy a second one later, when you have saved more money? Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Report Posted February 10, 2015 I gotta say... im feeling that 18 idea. I would have to mount it on top but i like it... whats the ported requirement for those? Do you know off hand?

CleanSierra Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 Also, you don't have 46" of depth in her trunk of an S4. You can't fit anything NEAR a 14x39X46. Go measure the truck again.you have to GET the box into the trunk, think about that Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Do you know off hand?Yes those require 5-6 cubes depending on the amount of power. But the bad news is like Kirill says a trunk sucks at having the sub facing up. Your best bet might be a beefy 12 Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!
Skullz Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 No way you'll do an 18" in the thing, and might even choke the 15" depending on the box dimensions, a pair of 12's might be tight and what has been pointed out is getting it into the car after it is built unless you plan on building it in the car. You'll need to plan this out so you get as much air space to the subs as possible without choking them. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
dcarroll1002 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Report Posted February 10, 2015 Ok. Thanks for all the info guys. Guess i need to sit down and look at this a little harder. Thanks again.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 11, 2015 Author Report Posted February 11, 2015 While we are talking about trunks there is a question that i would love some input on. Port to the rear or front? Or does it even matter?
