dcarroll1002 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 I have looked and trust no other group of people more than you guys to answer this question. I'm trying to find a good sounding sub to go in the trunk of my 05 audi s4. I am looking for something around 150ish but no more than about 165. And i would prefer nothing smaller than a 15 as i have always been drawn ti larger subs. Just need some ideas as its been a really long time since i even looked at subs. Thanks in advance fit guys.
aculous Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 165$ may be a hard price point. Try soundqubed and stereo integrity, dayton, eminence.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Yea like i said im not looking for something to flex my windows but would like a little volume to it. I may just have to increase my budget. Just not let the misses know about it lol
Ahmed Johnson Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 That's gonna be tough at 165. SQ might be your best bet.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Would an extra $100 make any difference? Its been so long since i looked at any of this that i dont know what brands are good anymore :-(
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 What's your goals for the sub? What amp are you planning to run? Enclosure space? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 I want something that will sound good that can be heard outside the car. Enclosure is whatever the cu ft. Space is of an audi s4. And i figure i would decide on woofers before the amp.
Joe X Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Provide max dimensions for a box in that vehicle, that goes before deciding on a sub.
dcarroll1002 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Cool. Will do as soon as i get off work and make it home. Thanks for the repliies so far guys.
kirill007 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Would an extra $100 make any difference? Its been so long since i looked at any of this that i dont know what brands are good anymore :-( Yes, a lot of difference. You could get a 100% engineered and manufactured in the USA subwoofer from Fi car audio. Like the SSD 15 or X 15 if you want to save a bit of cash. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
