I plan on networking 2 6v in series to make 12V .....and then run 3 sets of those 12V ( 2 x 6V in series) in parallel to step up the current. What are you takes on 6V cells? Your replies will be helpful

The way I see it 3 sets of 2 would give a 12v storage with a good ah. Then 3 sets of those wired in parallel. Gives a total of 3 12v batteries. Should specify they were big 9 volt batts not the little guys. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Lanzar_Optidrive Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 Hi Guys These 6V cells are not that big as compared to my 12v that i have but they are almost equal in weight.... 12v were 63kg each and these 6v are 30kg = 60kg to make a 12v bank..... so its a loss of 3 kg per set also the 6v are newer also remember the 6V are 250 amp hour batteries at 6V - the CCA on them are 5000 each at 6V so when i series two - wont i get a longer time burst of 250 amp? the bank becomes bigger so in total im looking at 750 amp hours with 15000 CCA

alaskanzx5 Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 The way I understand it Amp hours divide by 2 when 2 are ran in series So 125 per 2 (12v bank) So 3 12v banks gives you 375 amps. Say those 6v batts rest at 6.2 volts, gives you 12.4 resting voltage power back. Typical agm battery is 12.6-12.8. Losing some voltage. Them you have to consider internal resistance of each battery and all 3 banks as a hole. How high can you charge them? 13? 13.8? 14.7? 15.6? How fast do they discharge and recharge? How long can they do this before going out?
