So i have a 4 channel amp in my truck and I am getting a noise coming from the amp only when its in gear and only when i am driving. i unplugged every speaker and rcas and it still is making a noise. its not a alternator noise its a different one. It has me stumped and i dont know what to do, when i get off work i am going to try another ground if that doesnt work i am thinking its the amp. let me know thanks.

What vehicle? Is your altcase grounded to the frame?

Remove the remote wire so the amp doesn't turn on, test and see if the noise is still coming from the amp. did it only just start doing this? or did you just finish installing the amp?

it started doing it a few weeks ago but finally pin pointed it. i will try removing the remote wire tomorrow.

did you install or change anything else on the car a few weeks ago around the same time?

I added a m4a and some subs but nothing like this has ever happened before.
