rockFord_Expedition
Nobody that actually knows anything will be able to tell you where to set your gains or anything else at over the internet, but we can help you get to where you need to be. The installer of this gear, did they use an oscilloscope or a DD-1 to set your gains? Also, does that amp have high level inputs or did they use a line out converter to send signal to the amp? LOC's are trash. What you need to know is the maximum undistorted volume of the head unit, then the gain needs to be matched to that. Bass boost is usually a bad idea unless you only like a narrow band of bass to play well and to hell with the rest. Where are you located at? Broke_Audio_Addict
I think maybe you're expecting too much out of 1 10" on 500 watts. And as rockford said we can't tell you where to set your controls too. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Broke_Audio_Addict
There is no gain on your headunit. Yes you should leave it alone. If the shop gave you a warranty you'll void it by touching any of that stuff. Skullz
As the sub breaks in it will get louder so give it some time. 500w isn't a lot so it enjoy it for now and you'll be surprised once it gets broken in. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
