Recommended Posts

Can u run more then one alt? I would think that would help your issue.

I think it's a batt problem. You would have to draw a LOT of current to get them into 13s from 18v With all that reserve and a 340.

Just me though

You're quadrupling the current draw. What did you expect?

Lol not really. And 2 3800s are going to get him like like 7-8k after curve and theyre are plenty of people on this forum powering 8k with a 340 and 6 batts on reserve.

I know my two ampere 3800's at .35 take my singer dual hair pins down to 12.9 after 3-4 demos. Im charging at 14v with a medium to low bank reserve.

Those boards pull current and make power. Mine do anyway.

I also know those 16v bats have had some return issues. Ive seen a lot go back for replacment....

Id check each one, on its own...... Charge it up, and check it frequently to see where it rests.... you may have one (or more) that are not holding a charge what so ever.

Thats a pretty decent bank to be seeing 13v when your running that high.

Sorry to keep at this.

Also,

The reason when you see people run HIGH volt, normally have 150% of reserve. Or multiple alts, or both...

The reason being is the amp hours on a 14 or 16 volt bat compared to a 12v bat, is retarted. The amp hours on a 12v bat is usually double or tripple of a high volt bat.

I dont know the specs on that bat, but i bet the reserve on it is weak. VERY weak. When you see people running high volt, and they demo, they have 2 dozen bats..... not half a dozen. Again, i dont know, but, im willing to bet 2 of my bats, have more amp hours than your entire bank.

Ill bet your burp scores will be great, but, long runs, may fall flat.......... You take the alt down, and your reserve will falter fast. If you dont have enough.

Hell, you may hold better voltage, running 12v, and a reserve like mine. I dunno.

TIme for you to do some trouble shooting..... good luck, post what you find.

This x2. OP, you increased your resistance a shit ton, and on top of that, are running a 18V system.

You do know that 12v batteries have more reserve than 16v batteries right?
