Gutta Trash
Was wondering if anyone here has added subs and kept their 9 speaker bose set up? I don't want to have to upgrade all my speakers and remove the factory amp at this time. I've already ordered most of my gear for the new set up, just wondering if the music will be heard over 2k watts and 2 15's On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. afrakes
Well, you will be able to hear a lot more than somebody with the same sub set up and a stock 4 speaker set up lol. Just depends on ur taste/needs out of a system. Edit: are you going to remove the stock sub? bigmizzle99
That is how I started with my setup...stock Bose with aftermarket subwoofer and sub amp. You will have a hard time hearing the music over the subs for sure. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.
rockFord_Expedition
Don't take for granted that you will be sending a clean signal to your amp. How do you plan to do this? Most Hi-Low converters that I have seen tested are garbage. Levels can be adjusted so that your music is balanced, but you will most likely not be satisfied with the low end if you do. Gutta Trash
I'm not using h/l convertors , I'm installing a Pioneer AVH-X4700BS with all the adapters to keep factory Bose (including woofer) system rear entertainment , and steering wheel controls. Running out the pre amps just like with any other h/u to sub amp On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. Gutta Trash
Or did you mean the h/l convertor for the h/u to bose amp? I was thinking you meant speaker l/o convertor On 4/20/2010 at 10:06 PM, 'cc_audio' said: Guys are just like girls, once you've had 18 inches you don't go back. 2004 GMC Yukon XL Pioneer AVH-X4700BS 13 band EQ Sub Amp- (2) PPI 5000BD.1 (2) Re SXX 15's 8 cu. ft. box tuned to 32 Hz (4) 6.5 Bose Mids (2) 1" Bose Tweets (2) 1.5" Bose Tweets (1) JY 80 AH w/ new JY busses (1) Duracell 750 up front Apex Alternators 270 A.C. bigmizzle99
I thought you meant keep the HU too. I think Rockford_Expedition thought that as well. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.

Ahmed Johnson
It might be a little hard to hear the music, try upgrading the front door speakers and dash speakers to help.
bigmizzle99
What are all the adapters? You'll still need to convert something to go from HU to Bose amp, right? My Bose amp doesn't have any RCA inputs. I tapped the low level signal wire out of my OEM HU and route it thru a JL Audio Clean sweep to EQ and covert to RCA outputs.
