ChevyBoy95 Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 that's a mad amount of rise... was blown away when I read about it on Facebook. Guess it's just the enclosure? I mean it's mad efficient, tipping close to a 60. Well not really close, but a lot closer than a 55. Not mad efficient. Sealed side is tiny. a 158.1 on 1 10k, clamping 2500w at 6.6 ohms.... yeah I would most definitely consider it an efficient enclosure in terms of using power to put up good numbers. For what it SHOULD be, not efficient. That rise should be about half that, and should be clamping about 12kw and doing a 160+. DavidClark Posted October 14, 2015 Author Report Posted October 14, 2015 Since the enclosure looks so good i'm not going to mess with it at the moment. I'm going to re cone the subs and add power. One of these days I will give it back to Daniel and let him create another masterpiece. Plus, I dont every think both amps regardless of rise were ever working together or correctly. Checked all the subs, they were fine. I will dig into everything and get it figured out. boom50cal Posted October 15, 2015 Report Posted October 15, 2015 foxracin4 had issues when he strapped his amps as well. Pretty sure one would protect or something funky like that aswell. hopefully he will chime in, he seems to pop in when he is mentioned. DavidClark Posted October 15, 2015 Author Report Posted October 15, 2015 Amps never protected, What happened was, we were only getting about 101,103 Ac volts from both amps strapped. When we unstrapped them ( gain matched) there was no more nor less output. tboorn Posted October 15, 2015 Report Posted October 15, 2015 there shouldn't be a change an AC voltage there should only be a change in amperage, thats why you can set your amp with a dmm if you know the ohm load and theoretical wattage output, the only change should be amperage between ohm loads not different voltages. Oh, thought it doubled. Could be board difference, but i get nearly 180vAC unloaded on my 2 D9's strapped, his 10k's strapped was 103vAC clean. But still, voltage drop and "loudness" didnt change in the slightest from 2 strapped at 1 to 1 amp at 1. At the end of the day, I firmly believe both amps were NOT working together and the whole time only 2 subs and 1 amp were actually functioning. DavidClark Posted October 18, 2015 Author Report Posted October 18, 2015 So, i'm not sure what this actually affected but, My radio (80prs) has a setting for stereo and mono on the sub out. It was on stereo and I switched it to mono, now it seems louder to the ear-o-meter. I have more voltage drop which tells me the amps have more output. Can somebody tell me what happens when the output id on stereo and when its on mono?
