My question is this: I want to change new mids and highs (i'll post a thread in mid / high section after this), but from what I read, they dont have 6.5's.... They have a 10" woofer in the door..? Heres a picture of the door. The bottom speaker is suppose to be a 10" and the tweeter by the door is 1" i think. What do u guys think.. I know the guy at SKAR audio has a 2009 Infiniti G37 and he did a great system, but Idk if I want to spend as much money as him (since its his products, prob free, but reality, more than $1000) Any suggestions??

Nice ride man, its beautiful.

How does the stock stereo sound?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Very nice Sir.

Thanks :D

It sounds good, but the thing is. I have to keep the stock headunit because it controls a lot of the electrical components in the vehicle. It sounds pretty good tho. It's just it doesn't get loud. Its crisp, but not where I would like it to be. I can live with it for the first few months, but if I want to upgrade, I would like to just getting components ran off an amp. I might put in my SA-15 but since i took it out of my Honda, I installed into my brothers car as I didn't want it to be just sitting.

But overall, its a great stereo for stock. Actually, its probably the best I've heard in a vehicle so far for stock.

Btw, thanks again. You tha REAL MVP

I'd take your time and save up and really plan it out if you're going put a whole new system in, I would not want to throw cheap gear in such a nice car.

Not cheap gear. Just slowly build into it. I'll buy a pair of quality components 1 set at a time. I just want new mids and highs. I don't need the sub yet at all.

The thing with the 10"s subs is that I heard you can fit a 6.5" in there, but you have to cut or shave the factory speaker placement in order for the 6.5" to sit in snug. I'm not quite sure as I need to keep reading, but I have to see.

Once I figure out the whole spec size of the factory and such, I'll look around and ask for high quality components .

Btw, heres a video of Skars G37 09. He uses 6.5s" but I think he did some fitting to have them fit.. cause in all the G37 forums, they say its a 10"

Edit: I think these are the specs:

(copied and pasted from another forum)

3.5 center dash

10" front door

3.5 front door "tweeter" (not 100% on the size)

6.5 rear door full-range

10" single "sub" in rear deck

Without seeing it in person I'd guess all you would need to do is fab a ring out of mdf to adapt it.

I'd go with a nice 8 inch or 10 inch mid since you have the space.
