seraphin_syn Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 So after looking at a bunch of forums with multiple reads and not finding specific information that gives a clear cut answer, maybe you guys can help on here. I'm currently running a Sundown X-12 on SAZ 1500v.2 in ported enclosure tuned 28hz. I want to do a new build in my 2015 Ford Explorer(which comes with a 200amp alt) i just bought. I used to run 2, SA10's back in the day. What im looking for in a setup is closer to my 2, SA10's and how you could feel the "hit" but i want more. I love my x-12 but i miss how much "Harder" feeling the sa's were. The Lows are nice but i like listening to more rock then rap. I will be using it as a DD and im not planning on doing competitions. Trying to stick to 2, 12's because i like my trunk space. I was looking at FI Q12, AA Myhem, and Sundown ZV.3. I've never heard any of those in person nor do i know anyone with them. Money wise i dont really care how much i spend, but im trying to stick around no more then 3500 for the entire build. I only have a spare SAZ 1500. Thoughts?
catch 22 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Sounds like your box is just tuned wayy too low. that x12 should get down on that amp. Or buy another x and a next amp
MrRTJ24 Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 I agree your box seems to be tuned too low. The X's enjoy lows without being tuned that low in the enclosure. If you're looking to try something that'll have more of a hit you mentioned like the SAs. You'll need both 1500d amps in the build strapped to power mayhems, or the ZV3s you said earlier. My ride as of now and what's to come:http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197137-mrrtj24s-66-chevelle-vehicle-log/
seraphin_syn Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks for the advice. Found out they don't carry the SAZ1500 line anymore! WTF. So much for strapping amps. SCV-3000D it is. Now to find a box builder... Anyone have a recommended builder for Michigan Area?
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 What part of MI are you in? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Miguels Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 $3500 is a good budget does the $3500 includes electrical? on 3k i would do the 1 15'mayhem but would do 2 fi Q over 1 mayhem.. your budget is big enough to get it done my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
seraphin_syn Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 Yes, includes Electrical. Batteries aren't cheap... Neither is 1/0 haha Figured 1k subs, 1k amp, 1k electrical, 500 for box.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 They are about 1:30 drive from you but they put out some nice looking stuff. https://m.facebook.com/AltimateAutomotive1?refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&_rdr That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
seraphin_syn Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 I contacted RA (rex audio) but when I asked him if he could kerf, he kept saying he could curve anything and sounded very uneducated. I get you don't need a college degree for this but sometimes sounding/acting professional goes a long way. I noticed your in Metro Detroit area, where you get your box?
