r.sok
I'm currently running a jl audio a6450. It's an older amp & I have them powering my hybrid audio components + rear fill. It sounds good but I do wonder if it would sound better with a more recent amp?
SIDE SHOW
I doubt you'd notice any improvement unless your going to just send them more pwr, on the same pwr i'd say no, I suggest upgrading the quality of your install, sound deadening befor upgrading amps. r.sok
Sorry I should have clarified a little more. All the doors have been sealed along with deflex pads & mlv. It sounds pretty damn good but I feel like it should sound better. I was hoping a newer amp might possibly change the way it sounds. I'm pretty much trying to narrow it down to either my amp or my h/u. My stereo only sends I believe 3 volts from the rca

r.sok
What's a decent processor around or under $300. Could be stock wiring be the culprit? I'm sending 75-110 rms through my own wiring. My car used to have the stock Bose amp if that matters but everything's been bypassed
r.sok
Through my oem wiring" since my oem amp was located in the trunk I mounted my crossovers there as well. It made for a really easy install
reedal
Going with what you've stated, the only way I can see quality of sound improving is to add a processor, head unit, or a different amplifier that has higher fidelity than the current amplifier/head unit. the source of your music (CD, iPod, SD card, etc.) plays into part too because depending on the quality of that in combination with the fidelity capabilities of your equipment, the music can be degraded slightly. hdorre
like the others, i dont see any real point in "upgrading" the amp. r.sok
0.08 thd Signal to noise 104db Are those generally good specs? I wasn't sure if the newer amp technologies provided a better sound or not which is why I was curious. A new double din Indash with navi and Bluetooth would run me around 1k. Could I achieve just as good of a sound with a processor in the $300 range? The music I play out of my sd card are all uncompressed flac files.
