Subs cutting in and out.

I've been having a problem the last few days with a set of my subs cutting out randomly and am turning to you guys for help. I'm running 4 subs each on separate amps wired to 1ohm. One pair is perfectly fine, but the other pair randomly cuts in and out and also makes a faint "popping" noise. The gains on both amps are set with an o-scope and a clean -7 40hz test tone with the LPF set at 80hz. I've double checked RCA's,ALL of my wire connections,and checked the ohm's on each voice coil of the two subs that are giving me problems.Not really sure what else to look at so suggestions are appreciated.

If two amps are failing simultaneously each independently connected to their respective subs with same symptoms it should be any resources these two amps share, signal, turn on, input power.

OP can you swap speakers from one amp to the other. If the problem follows the speakers, then pull them and check them. If the problem only happens on one amp then recheck connections, swap rca's, and anything you can think of. You could have a bad amp.

Good point. Ill check tomorrow after i get home from the gym. A bad amp has been lingering in my mind.....

So what joe said still works, find out what is common between the 2 failing amps that is different than the other two amps.

That's what I tried at first. But I cannot find any difference. Both Amps are putting out 42.3 volts,and every connection is secure. I'm going to swap the Subs and amp and see if the problem continues on the same side; if it does continue then it's my subs. If it stops and transfers to the opposite side then it's my amp. Im not exactly sure what It would be on the amp causing this proble tho.

The op mis spoke he only has 2 amps not 4....

Sounds like 4 amps to me then your reply said a pair of amps how many amps do you have for proper advice

not real sure how many amps youre running but maybe your headunit is failing at putting out enough remote power to so many things

Relay off the head unit's remote turn on. 85 to ground, 86 to remote turn on, 87 output to all amplifiers, 30 to +12V constant, 87a will go unused. This way, the amps will turn on/off with the head vs with the vehicle. Secondly, you're not adding a separately fused current draw in parallel to another fused circuit, all on the same size factory wiring. Example, you have a 5 amp factory fuse, you install the splitter pictured above and throw two 5 amp fuses in there, the factory component draws 4 amp and your add-on draws 4 amp, neither enough to blow their respective fuse, but 8 amp is pulled through the factory wiring on the fuse block (an ignition source in this case, so not all off one heavy gauge wire input). Yeah, not a huge deal in this particular case. But it's bad practice regardless. Same reason we don't use t-taps although they might work fine in one particular case.

That said, if the OP truly only has two amplifiers (and not 4 as first said), this is not his problem.

I don't know where ya'll are getting 4 amps from but he said he has 4 subs, and then says one pair is fine and the other is acting up. So if he's got four subs and saying there wired to one ohm per pair, then it looks to me like he's got 4 D4 subs on two amps.
