Island Bumpkin
I'm building a system right now that Is going to have a Sundown E10 D2, which has an RMS of 500W. I would really like to have a Sundown SAE-600D amp, but I can't afford that. I found a few different amps that have nice reviews, and they're names I recognize. 1: Rockford Fosgate Prime R500X1D. 500W RMS @ 2 ohms 2: PowerBass ASA 600.1DX, 600W RMS @ 2 ohms 3: Kenwood KAC-5001PS, 500W RMS @ 2 ohms Any opinions and/or pointers would be appreciated Thanks Jameson Auto Enthusiast -- Mechanical Engineering Student 1999 Honda Accord EX. 100% stock driver. Jhunt94
Out of those three my vote is for the Rockford Fosgate R500x1D. I have RF amps and love them. I think that would will be the best bang for your buck. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. reedal
The Rockford would be the best choice, but you can't wire that sub to 2ohms. Only 1ohm or 4ohm. So you can run it at 4ohm and not get the 500w to the sub, or you can run it at 1ohm (if the amplifier is 1ohm stable) and cut gain back from its cleanest output setting. Your best bet would be to find an amp that offers 500w at 1ohm SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=

MrSkippyJ
the RF amp is not 1ohm stable. The SAE-600D is really about the same price, just go with that. Island Bumpkin
On the topic of the Rockford, on their website they list it as being a 2 ohm amp... 300W @ 4 ohms and 500W @ 2 ohm what about the Kenwood is bad?
