Cody Pearson
i want to build my first wall, but how do you determine the port size for a certain frequency. is there cheap or free software i can use. it will be 4 18's on 10,000 RMS. any help would be very helpful. thanks 2 mofo152x's on 6000 rms, 141.6 dB termlab
MrSkippyJ
No different than how you figure a port for any enclosure. aps01
hey cody!welcome to the walled family first of all!well to give you the basic hint on how to...first of all you have to figure out how many litres is your wall.then figure out the position of your subs and your duct.after that you have to determine your goals(decide what music you wanna play if you want it to tune high or low aim at a number and try to go from there)so basically if you like r n b you wan't a wall tuned relatively low while if you like electronic you can tune higher.after that you need to measure the space left in the face of the wall for your duct.once you know that it's easy to use a program to tell you the depth of your duct so it tunes at the wanted frequency.from there on it's all trial and error until you find your perfect set up '92 toy rolla EE90/AE92 1.3lt 12 x 8inch beyma (mids) 6 x beyma CP21-F tweeters(highs) 4 x 15 SPL Dynamics SPL380 D2(walled) 2 x ESX Vision 2500.2(mids,highs) 1 x SPL Dynamics D9-XS(subs) 4 x stinger SPV70 + 5 X SVR platinum 3500P batts 157.2 official on db drag comp-157.3 on same comp but eliminated...still a work in progress... Cody Pearson
Wow, OK thanks man I appreciate it very much. I'm really excited to build my first wall. This will be my biggest system yet. I really want to compete with this new system next year but we don't really have a very big local comp. I have left with first place, on my first comp. How can I find bigger comps with more people. I live in central oregon. I would be willing to drive somewhere but need a realistic idea of how many dbs people are hitting in "my class". I'll be running 4 18's on a "10,000 rms" amp. I'll have to see what it actually puts out when it gets here. Thanks 2 mofo152x's on 6000 rms, 141.6 dB termlab
