hey all,

so ill be building a box for a buddy in his 95 crown vic. he has 2 Lanzar optridrive 1532D. he will also be using a lanzar optidrive amp(i believe the 3600).

so heres how he want the box. he wants to port thru the rear deck. this means the port will be outside of the box. ive got all my dimensions.. so here they are..

width-42"
depth-23
height-27.5

port extension
width-28"
depth- 15"
height- 10"

these are all the max dimensions. can anyone help help me decide on a ratio, tuning frequency, and whatnot.. thanks

yes.. lol.. i understand the ratios and how to build. but these speakers are cheap and really shoulda just asked if they r even worth putting in a 4th..

i havnt run a 4th in winisd yet to determine how they will react either.. my computer is messed up at the moment..

I just heard a pair of lanzar optidrive 8's in a 4th recently....very loud and very clear for two cheap subs! I was surprised! It is all in the box! I don't have experience building a 4th order but it is certainly worth trying if you can do it right!

i should also clarify y im asking to do a 4th.. my buddy really wants the port thru the deck, so i figured that a 4th would be best.. itll throw all the sound into the car with minimal bass going to the trunk.. if a 4th doesnt sound like a good idea then ill just build a regular ported box but port thru the deck..

lanzar.pngok.. so my computer is acting ok at the moment, so I tried to see what win isd could come up with..

I designed the ported to manufacturer spec..

the 4th order I drew up based on the frequency response..

what do yall think??

Looks like a peaky ass bandpass, like many are with a good bump around tuning.

Did you do anything with port area? Did WinISD just suggest port area to be something dumb like 5X5? I've seen it do that. You need to tweak port area and it might flatten that response a bit.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I have adjusted port area to what I wanted. 130 square inches. but the plot doesn't change one bit.. is it supposed to..

quick question.

does WinISD account for gross or net volume??
