can i strap 2 amps that are not the same size together?

i have a bc3500 and would like to know if i could strap it with a bc2000 ... i read someplace that i can as long as i put the bigger one first and slave the smaller one. but then some one said that it can't be done, but didn't say why. so what is it.?

Your owners manual says only identical amplifiers:
