SJonus Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 heres what iv done and what i have....i have a factory ford head unit with a schosche slc-4(havent had problems that i know of in the years iv used it).thats running two set of rca's to the back..i adjusted the volts on the loc to have 2.5 volts(its max was 5+).. i have a 4 channel amp and 2 mono amps daisy chained off of the 4 channel..the 2 mono amps are rated at 600 rms..so i needed to set gains on them to around 34 volts.. Well, when i turn my volume up and have my multimeter ready the reading is at 45 volts with bass knob up..13 volts when off..and the amp gains are at zero...question is..should i not touch the gains and leave a zero and just use the bass knob to turn it up?..or do i have somthing screwy goin on? thx 4 any help 2004 F-150 Lariat 2 PGold 800 rms amps to subs 1 Hifonics 640.4 brutus to m/h 4 a2-65 6" percisionpower-mids 4 PT.2 tweets percisionpower-hi's 2 12" PA mofo's/box by "dave the box guy" big 4 0/1 g front to back / 2 optima yellow tops nutin special....
08tahoe Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Your schosche loc is most likely your problem.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 What are you using as a bass knob? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
SJonus Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 the bass knob came off of another amp..not sure what brand..when i move the knob the volts go from 13 to 45 half way up..mayb knob??...ya and the schosche..can u recommend a LOC thats good .sorta cheap? 2004 F-150 Lariat 2 PGold 800 rms amps to subs 1 Hifonics 640.4 brutus to m/h 4 a2-65 6" percisionpower-mids 4 PT.2 tweets percisionpower-hi's 2 12" PA mofo's/box by "dave the box guy" big 4 0/1 g front to back / 2 optima yellow tops nutin special....
reedal Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 AudioControl. That's probably the best you'll do for a clean signal reproduction Edit: on a budget anyways. 08tahoe Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Well if your bass knob came off another amp then that can be part of your problem also.. Get a pac lc-1. And cheap and good don't really go together but the audiocontrol is a good one, I have the audiocontrol lc6-i
08tahoe Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 You should also set your gains the right way with a dd-1 or o-scope
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 So there knob is most likely a bass boost control then. Ditch it and get a pac-lc1. SJonus Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 what about the LOC's that have a bass knob..are they worth a crap?..or should i find my original knob and use the amps gain? 2004 F-150 Lariat 2 PGold 800 rms amps to subs 1 Hifonics 640.4 brutus to m/h 4 a2-65 6" percisionpower-mids 4 PT.2 tweets percisionpower-hi's 2 12" PA mofo's/box by "dave the box guy" big 4 0/1 g front to back / 2 optima yellow tops nutin special....
