want to build a wall

Definitely dont put batteries under the box....get a nice looking toolbox for the back that is lockable and throw them in there. Orrrr, just make a rack yourself for the batts and run a canopy or tonneau cover.

As for the enclosure....you want to build it as large as you possibly can in that truck. You can shrink it later but you can never make it larger.
Think of it this way....Build yourself the outer shell of your enclosure (as large as possible) and once thats done you never have to redo that portion. You can redo the baffle and internals but you will always have a super solid shell to work from. Thats the key. Build the shell once, strong as fuck.

The most important question here....what are your goals with the setup??
This will determine how strong you're going to need to make it. In other words, are we going to use all wood....some concrete, some steel, or all steel even??

As you are building your shell....dont think of it as if its a box inside the cabin of your truck. Think of the cabin of your truck as the box itself. All you're doing is essentially lining the interior with wood (or steel/concrete/fiberglass etc) to make it stronger. So fasten your panels to the truck as much as you can. Build it one or two pieces at a time, inside the truck. Dont build the box outside the truck then slide it in...thats a half-assed way to build a wall and cutting corners like that will hurt your score 99% of the time.

Start with either the floor piece or the back as they are the easiest and fasten all your others to that, and to the body of the truck as much as possible. (Truck interior panels should all be removed behind B pillar).

Once your shell is done then you need to decide what type of enclosure you want to build....4th order, 6th order, tunnel, clamshell, straight ported.....and where your port will be located, baffle layout etc. Thats the easy part.

Make sure to overbuild the shell. BARE minimum of 2 layers of 3/4" MDF in all areas.

I guess I'm qualified to throw in my 2 cents due to being on my second wall build (every step is still a new learning process) and mine in is an ext Cab Chevy.

1. You will have to build it inside the truck to get the maximum volume, period. After displacements you will probably have a max of 16 cubes and that is pushing it. I didn't max mine out and im @ roughly 14.2 cubic feet after all displacments.

2. A proper platform is key, bolted to the floor in multiple places

3. As far as tuning, generally, ext cabs peak high in general, so whatever you tune to expect it to be about 10hz higher peak on the meter, this doesnt meant it cant smash lows, just a disclaimer

4. For those frequencies, low 30's tuning with a decent amount of port area and volume should serve you well

5. As far as battery and amp placement, I would invest in a tool box if you dont have one, that is where I have my fuse block, 6 group 31's, my 2 5k's, etc. If the ext cab has a 3rd door, you can put some amps on the side of the box

6. Like others have said, for sp4's you will want 1.5" thickness of MDF all over the box, maybe a 3rd layer on the baffle if it makes you feel better, but isnt necessary.

7. After you plan everything out, start building and get ready to run into a load of unforeseen issues, it is just part of it.

I am probably the only one who was dumb enough to put batteries under the wall. I won't do it again it looks killer but it sucks ass to build.
