pioneerforlife
I have heard that the 9515i's specifically dont work well in fourths. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this or knows why they don't do it. JEFFYBOI
Heard the same thing. DD subs in general don't perform so well in 4ths. Couldn't tell you why but that's what i have heard off FB 4th order builds page. It was on FB must be true! I have seen a lot of DD 4ths that worked good but not with the 9500i motors.Edit: Yeah that thing does 60's but its the j motor. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
CleanSierra
EBP usually is way high, making it not ideal for a 4th BP. The thing is, you can get away with Lot when you're dealing with that much cone area and power. You won't notice the mistakes of an enclosure design error since you have so much sub to kind of hide the faults. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. 727Designs
We have done a 4th with 6 9515J's with good results. Haven't tried the I's but I know I have spoken with Jack @ DD about building recones to make the older motors more 4th order friendly. -Zach-2010 Toyota TundraFull Hybrid Audio SQ 7" BDS on 37's 2000 Ford Expedition 160+ dB Green Turd -SOLD-

Haven't tried the I's but I know I have spoken with Jack @ DD about building recones to make the older motors more 4th order friendly. The EBP for the Js are 60 somethin and the I's are 100. So the j's are way more 4th friendly. Not sure what would happen if you put the I's in a 4th though. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud

Same thing that happens when you put a high EBP sub in a sealed box, you get poor low end performance.
