They are pro audio speakers, they'll have a sterile sound to them unlike an auto designed speaker will.

Every speaker is designed for a particular application, and that is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak.

There is a lot to take into account when using and choosing pro audio drivers.

I'm sure that if I put them in my SPL ride, they would sound good and get fairly loud ... I'm sure that if I put them in my SQ ride, they would work exceptionally well as far as clarity and dynamics is a concern. Either way I'd put a shit ton of class AB power on them ...

All depends on application brother ... Installation is key.

Are you just asking general questions or do you have a ride and shopping for midbass drivers ???

I have a set of RF T2 mids and tweets in the front right now and I'm looking to throw another 6.5" mid in each door. I was originally gonna get another set of t2s but they're a little pricy. I came across the PWXs and was wondering your guys opinion on them. I'm really open to anything honestly if you have any other recommendations.

If I wasn't getting what I wanted out of a pair of 6.5s ... I would bump up to a pair of 8s and reinforce my install ...

Just saying

  • 1 month later...

these aren't the type of speaker you can just throw in your doors to replace the stock drivers. they require a nice mounting and tons of power. When done correctly, these sound great. Not especially bass-y, but moreso than most pro audio drivers i've heard. They sound great loud.

Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
