Question: 05 Escalade EXT Mecman 370a Install (PCM Controlled?) Need help

Hey guys, my Mechman 370a alt is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I believe my 05 Escalade EXT has a PCM controlled alt?

Should I order a dual alt bracket and run the Mechman separately?

or...

Run it somehow in place of stock alt through the sensor?

Ive read multiple threads with conflicting advice. Just trying to clarify cause I'm completely confused.

Thanks

I am not sure Wasteland_Audio. I'll take a look.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Where would you recommend ordering a dual alternator bracket from?

Also, I am assuming I will need an extra battery ?

DC Alternators makes the best dual bracket in my opinion, and if it is the 4 pin plug then it should just be plug and play with no issues, the dual kit from DC should come with a harness for to run duals as well.

I just spoke with Mechman and they assured me that it should be plug and play if installed exactly how instructions state and that I should not have any issues.

On a side note as far as Serpentine belts go. Is "effective length" the actual length of the belt?

Belt length is really gonna be trial and error, everyone told me i was gonna need a slightly shorter belt when i got mine but the stock one ended up working just fine. when you get the dual kit tho you'll have to just find one that works.

Thanks for all the help guys. I spoke with Mechman and they assured me that as long as the shop wires it directly as the instructions state that I shouldn't have a problem with just replacing my stock alt with the 370a. They also said make sure the grounds from amp was directly to battery not chassis. Does this make sense?
