BP1Fanatic
I'm curious to know, when building a series tuned BP6, the rear chamber does not require the port area of a parallel tuned BP6? I'm thinking your rear chamber needs the port area of at least 2 of the 12" subs. 2000 Toyota Solara SEV6, 200 amp alternator, Jensen VX7020, Hifonics American Warrior Taurus X, Hifonics American Warrior Centurion X, JBL Club 6500C, Power Acoustik XP2K-4102, Coustic Power Logic HT-612 in a BP4. BP1Fanatic
BR port area is not based on enclosure volume. BR port area is based on speaker displacement (Sd). A good rule of thumb for BR port area is 1/3 to 1/2 of the speaker diameter. Since you have six 12's, then your rear port area should equal 2 to three 12's. Looks like you could get away with using half the area of the front port for your rear port. For lower tuning, you would have to make the rear port longer which would increase the total size of your rear chamber. Did you model your BP6 in WinISD or Hornresp? Both simulators have port air speed calculators. If I remember correctly, WinISD states your ports air speed should be under 0.16 mach to prevent port noise. 2000 Toyota Solara SEV6, 200 amp alternator, Jensen VX7020, Hifonics American Warrior Taurus X, Hifonics American Warrior Centurion X, JBL Club 6500C, Power Acoustik XP2K-4102, Coustic Power Logic HT-612 in a BP4.
