hello I recently purchased a distortion detector and the problem is I have a BMW 3 series and it does not show the volume level, How would I use this properly without knowing the acutally volume level that its at?, it's the navigation headunit type, Plus if I remove the subwoofer speaker wire from the amp, the door speakers still play loud from the Cd tracks is that normal ? becuase in YouTube videos i see online i dont hear any sound while they set their gains. 2 Amps: Mrv500, do I set the LP filter back to 80hrz after its tuned? 2 subwoofers: Pioneer TS-W309D4 12" Champion Series Subwoofer with Dual 4 Voice Coil

I just bought a dd1 distortion detector and I was wondering what track I should play to tune my amp. They have -5db, -10db, and -15db. I currently use a usb with all songs downloaded at -7.5db and want the loudest and cleanest sound I can get out of it. I have 4 skar ddx 15s on a crescendo 4.5k @ 1 ohm. And will using a dd1 make my system much louder if tuned right?

Hey guys I am looking to start a new build in my 2008 Tahoe. I am set on 4 SA 15's. I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction to get some ideas for an enclosure. I will have the whole trunk to work with. (Behind the rear passenger seat, third row has been removed) Any replies are appreciated !

So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up. My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being: HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4 Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps. Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. I'll post pictures as i go through the install. edit: fixed the pictures

Being new to car audio, i don't understand what "gain overlap" really means, -10db, -5db, 0db ? What is the best way to tune my system with my DD-1? And what settings should i set all my dials in the amp? Hey Guys, I sent in my DD1 for repair I believe right around the first week in January 2019.. I got a message back from D'Amore Engineering on January 28th stating that it needed some minor repairs and to go ahead and pay for an "Overhaul" and that would cover it. When I went to pay for the "Overhaul" the only payment option was paypal... PayPal closed my account on me because of too many personal transactions. They said I was too high risk for them..lol whatever that means.. So I cant use or open up another paypal account. I replied to the info@damoreengineering email that contacted me about the repair on January 29. I explained that I could not use paypal for payments and asked if there was any other way I could arrange payment for the repair... I have not received any response and have since emailed them again and again. This is in no way a bash post on D'Amore Engineering.. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there's any way that I can get a hold of someone over there at D'Amore... I love their products and have sent stuff in for repair in the past and never had an issue... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, James.

First time posting in this thread. Looking for a reliable hard pounding card audio system for around $1k. It is for a chevy Tahoe. So far I am considering getting a pair of Sundown Audio 12" 750W Dual 4-Ohm with the sundown audio 1500.1 or going with the skar audio 2000.1 monoblock (200$ cheaper). Will custom build the box accordingly and have a solid aftermarket head unit. Does this sound like a good set up for someone looking to get some extra bass from using a pair of L7s in the past?

Hi all I have just bought two 12 Alpine type r 12d2s 1000 RMS each. I am looking to put them in ported enclosure but need help on what size to use. I'm looking for deep loud and low bass with the best frequency respose possible. I am able to fit a 4 cubic foot box in my trunk after port displacement and sub displacement. Also if I tune to say 32hz will I get enough bass upwards of 45hz or will it start to roll of/ Also what size port should I use I was thinking 3 inch wide 12 high does port size affect frequency response such as making the response shorter or longer. Hope some one can be of assistance

I made a nice modification on my amplifier......... I removed the top of my sound system because it was heating up a lot So it turned off for self-protection then i had to wait for it to cool off.. So i replaced it with plexi-glass and i adapted two ventilators on it to keep it cool. Finally i decorated it with led light bulbs. So after getting to play with the Skar Audio VVX subs - http://www.stevemead...-audio-vvx-12s/ we were anxious to try the amps of the same brand.... and here they are, in Russia, posing for a quick photoshoot along with the awesome SMD DD-1 and CC-1 that we got from Steve We already had the VVX12's out of the Audi (and sold actually as quite a few people were very impressed by their abilities) and the Sundown z12v2's with d1 coils in.... so this meant we could take two SK1500.1's and and run them bridged @ 1ohm (0.5 nominal per amp) Gains were set using the SMD DD-1, to ensure that there is no clipping. here's a good vid playing Gucci, moving quite a bit of air and being slightly loud with 148+ @30hz on the meter (I know it's hard to see in the vid) and here's the clamp of the power figures @ 148.4 we got 2930 watts of clean power from two amps with a rise to 2.5ohms and a drop to 11.6v.....this is also after about an hour of testing and playing music on drained batteries...... which is damn good, especially at this low a frequency Overall, the amps are great, very well built, sound extremely plesant and are stable below 1ohm Good job Skar Audio!

I just received TM-1 and need a little help with the wiring. I've included a picture of the wires and of the instruction in the background for reference. The included instructions say that the RED wire is POWER, is that correct? The only red wire is a super small (maybe 16 gauge or smaller) wire that is part of the 3 wire bundle. How is that supposed to go with the included yellow fuse and wire which is a much larger gauge. The WHITE wire is TRIGGER according to the instructions and BLACK is GROUND, is that correct? They are both 2 separate larger wires not part of the 3 wire bundle. Now here's the really confusing part... I'm left with small BLACK and YELLOW wires that are part of the 3 wire bundle. The instructions state that I should be left with a BLACK and GREY as fan - and fan +, respectively, but I don't have a GREY wire at all. Can you guys/gals give me a hand with this set up? I don't want to screw something up and void the warranty. Thanks in advance for your help!
