New build finished

Recommended Posts

I took a break from car audio to work on something that I needed to do, build a new PC. My old PC was an i7 920, 6GB DDR3 1333, 128GB SSD, 500GB Hard drive, 750ti.

Started this rig back in july and it has just progressed from there.

i7 4790k

16GB Crucial Ballistix Elite 1866

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H

SLI eVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+

Raid 0 Samsung 850 Pro 256GB

EK Supremacy MX cpu block

XSPC EX360/240 radiators

Phobya Balancer 150 reservoir

Swiftech D5 pump

Ek fittings

Primochill Advanced LRT 1/2id 3/4od tubing

EK vardar 120mm 1450RPM fans

Corsair HX850i

Corsair Carbide 540

Unfortunately, I bought the first GPU before I decided to WC the PC and these GPUs do not have a correspoding waterblocks. I could use a universal, however the only one I like is ultra restrictive and I don't have to space to add a second pump.

I think EK makes a block for your GPUs that's a direct fit. http://www.ekwb.com/configurator/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=1538

Double check that is your card and either of those two should fit, according to EK's website.

Unfortunately they do not and don't plan too. These are the 04g-p4-3975-kr model. With the new pcb and cooler.

Wonder why not. If you really wanted to water cool your GPUs, could you maybe sell those and get two new 970s that you could get blocks for or maybe a 980. The 970 is still a good card, you could probably sell them close to retail price being this close to Christmas. And if you buy new cards during Black Friday, there's no reason for you to not break even with that deal. If not, maybe walk away with some extra money for blocks.

Problem is that 970 sli is *more* powerful that a single 980ti in most cases. I'll just hang on to these until Pascal comes out and then upgrade to the 980ti equivalent.
