Amp suggestions for Sundown SA-8's

I have heard Sundown subs take way more than what they are rated at. I have heard people that work for Sundown say that you should over power them to loosen them up, they get louder as they start to loosen up or break in.

and if you would re-read my post, I never said they couldn't. I doubt that anyone said to overpower it to break it in, but that is a story for another day. My question to you was what is it you expect to happen when you overpower them by that much? What Benefit do you expect to gain?

BMWKing, I am liking that American Bass amp more and more after reading reviews and reading the amp test I found on it. One thing everyone says it is is power hungry. I don't have the big 3 installed, but I have a diesel truck and it has a large alternator and 2 batteries already. Will this be good for this amp? I have 2/0 welding gauge copper cable also, Can I use this or stick to 4 gauge as it calls for.

It's really not as bad as people make it seem. I have a factory agm battery, a small shuriken bt20 and all 1/0. 4ga from a fused distribution block to the amp. there is no built in fuse on this amp so put a big fuse close to it. I would say with your electrical youre fine but use the 2/0 you already have and buy a couple 4ga slug adapters.
