this is for iasca format and im sure db is the same on the voltage, look at page 46 it says the voltage allowed for the class youre wanting to do

Street Classes you're only allowed 1 Battery :)

I have seen an SPL car round here using 8 2v Forklift cells in series to get 16v capable of a couple of thousand amperes :)

Weight even out between the two when you combine proper wiring configurations.

That's backwards, parallel two 6v batteries, stays 6v, series, goes to 12v, amperage stays same, parallel, voltage stays same, amperages goes up.

Yes, that is what I was getting at.

By the time you wired 6v batteries out to 12v the weight between the two batteries versus the one 12v would be about the same.
