I'm wondering something. First of all, what is the overall size of that? I mean I think you said internal was 8 x 8, right? What's the depth of it?

Anyway, I'm thinking of how you cut it. I've watched the video where you cut it a couple of times, and it seems like you should be able to do it better than that. Cutting backwards is so incredibly dangerous, I'm just thinking of ease and safety.

Couldn't you figure out what the curved edge, or outside needs to be width wise, and then cut into it, instead of backwards from the other side first? Or are there angle issues with that? It still has to be a 45* angle right? Just wondering.

I really want to try this now!! THANKS!!!!! AS IF I didn't already have enough on my plate!!

It is dangerous. Lol. With my tools, I have to do it that way. I can cut the right side going forward and normal. Left side I have to go backward. Someone on facebook said it's easier if I flip the blade around for cutting the left side.

And you can, I said it in the beginning of the video when I was gluing the kerfs together (not too clear, my bad) that you can lay the board flat and use a jigsaw and follow the curved line. I could if I wanted to. But the cut probably wouldn't come out too well since jigsaws are some seriously stone-age tools in terms of accuracy.

And it's 16.875" x 16.875". Depth is 12ish.

actually flipping the blade makes much more sense. Then you're cutting in the direction meant for the blade and kick back is probably less likely. Just a bit more inconvenient.

And I wouldn't cut it with a jigsaw either. Just doesn't seem like it would turn out right.
