jcarter1885
It's ALL ABOUT THE INSTALL! My crescendo pwx 10s sound awesome. Everyone that's heard them likes them unless everyone lies. We are in a snow storm right now but if it stops I'll go do a video with only the nendo 10s playing. Thats because sound is subjective, some people like it and some dont. PWXs sound horrible to me compared to other pa drivers, yeah they can get the job done just not everybodies cup of tea. MADVIBES
I bet the use of a zobel network in a simple pasive filter can help with some of the huge peaks and dips of the driver or simply eq them. I am not sure why someone earlier said its a bad idea to eq pa drivers. ShadeTreeMechanic
Thanks everyone! If I had to build a set with raw drivers, I wouldn't know where to start. Somewhere I read that Dayton Audio drivers are great in a car and I looked at Parts Express and thought for the low price how could they sound any good. I know the install plays a big part. Back in the day we would put the mid low in the door and the tweeter high on the door. I see a lot of tweeters on the A pillars and have mine there too now and I think they sound great for what they are the mids are in the stock location about 2/3 of the way up the door. They are A $40 Hifonics set that I picked up to get my foot back in the door. I was amazed that $40 separates could sound this good. Back in the day $40 would get you Audiovox or Kraco which are junk by comparison. I know there is something better like the Polk separates I had back in the day. I have a pocket along the bottom of my door panel that I could remove to make room for possibly some 8s. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

MADVIBES
here is my solid recommendation. Try a vifa P17 with a morel mdt 30 tweeter, match made in heaven. If you could fit the vifa p21 I would do that, but its an 8" mid/woofer https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/scanspeak-woofers-6-7/scanspeak-classic-p17wj00-6.5-woofer/ https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/morel-soft-dome-tweeters/morel-mdt30s-1-textile-dome-tweeter-aluminum-face-plate-rear-chambe/ DB DRAG PSYCHLONE PRO 156.3 30 SECOND AVERAGE FO MAX AT 26HZ LEGAL DASH DRIVER DOOR OPEN 158.0@30 HZ MY BEST SO FAR, HOPEFULLY A 160 COME FEBUARY. 156.9@26hz 158.0@30hz

ShadeTreeMechanic
OK then that makes me wonder. Would a 6.5 high in the door sound better than an 8 low in the door? I could probably do both. I have seen kick panels with midst and tweets in them and can't imagine that would sound good. I have seen SQ builds with pods in top of the dash and can understand that. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
MADVIBES
i did a dodge charger with this set up but used the 8" in the doors instead of the 6" I ran the tweeter up in the dash, I ran a 1200 watt amp bridged to each door. The sound was amazing, everyone who heard it commented on how good it sounded, he was running 15" fi subs that was outputting 148db's at 30hz and could easily be heard keeping up. ShadeTreeMechanic
Would the crossover be for a mid only or a mid and tweeter combo? How would this compare to having them on separate channels? 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
