ron
Will strapping two amplifiers together be louder than one on each subwoofer? Is there a big difference?
poorfish88
The amps make the same power either way. If you strap the amps you don't have to gain match them. I prefer to gain match and not strap my amps, but it's the same results either way.
audiofanaticz
Running 2 amps at 1ohm to each woofer or 2 amps at 2 ohm strapped to the pair is usually the same. Some amps actually put out a little less when strapped. Not only do you have to gain match you also have to set your ssf and lpf filter dead nuts on with each other which is hard to do unless you got something like a cc-1 or your using a processor that controls both. Sometimes running multiple amps to multiple subs not strapped can be louder but is install dependent due to phase issues of your enclosure. I myself have 4 sub amps and 4 subs, each sub has its own amp and its ideal for me to tweak things more and more.

What are you tweaking with 4 amps on 4 subs that you couldn't tweak with strapped amps on subs?

ShadeTreeMechanic
I think it depends on what ohms you can get your load to come out to. Amps rated for 1 ohm can only do 2 ohms when strapped because the strapped amps share the load like two bridged channels in the same amp. Also the amps can be linked without being strapped. The com cord will link the inputs in a master slave fashion while they are on separate subs. At least on the amps I have seen. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
