I've been planning on buying an American Bass Xfl1522 and wiring it @ 1-Ohm to a Crescendo Audio S1500.1. In the future when I can upgrade my electrical (past a Big 3) I might want another AB XFL15 and S1500.1. Would It work? Im assuming that I would just build say an 8 cu. ft. box and separate them into two 4 cu. ft. boxes on the inside to prevent cancellation.

It will work BUT..... u should use a DD-1 so u can set both amps correctly. If u try to match amp setting visually u will be off, maybe not by much but being off is still being off. I honestly would just get a single 3k amp and wire both subs to that. But if u insist on getting two amps make sure u buy or borrow a DD-1 so both amps are set and tuned the same..... my two cents

What about an O-scope and DMM?

That could work but DD1 is gonna show ur distortion a oscope only shows clipping. Better off get the $150 DD1 in my opinion

A CC-1 will set the amps equally, the DD-1 won't do that.

Setting both amp gains yes to be equal yes :) setting SSF and LPF no :(

The CC-1 sets equal gains and crossover points.

F150:

I understand that i was saying the DD1 can set both amp gains correct but obviously not the SSF LPF. Your recommended tool is best option for both my good sir :)

Heres a point on the dd1 vs oscope, i saw video of a brand new $900 double din alpine unit that at volume 10/40 it was already distorting on the DD1 and to confim the guy hooked the alpine up to a studio grade distortion dectector and at volume 10/40 it was showing 2% distorion. He hooked up a studio grade oscope and showed a perfect sine wave up to 38/40. That alpine was brand new factory defect and if tried setting ur amp gains with ONLY an oscope and DMM u would be distorting from the get go...... thats why im better off getting a DD1 or CC1 and maybe a $70 hand held oscope other members recommended to me so i have both.....

I don't think you've ever used an o-scope if you think it only shows clipping. An oscilloscope will show the signal, be it distorted, or clipped (which is a form of distortion) or clean. If you measure a sine wave, you will see a sine wave. Same goes for square waves, or sawtooth, or any form of signal. You can read AC and DC signals. Obviously with every product some are better than others. And like every piece of test equipment, after some time it should be re-calibrated. What one video shows against a DD-1 does not speak for the equipment as a whole.

Edit: and the regular DD-1 will not set gains on two amplifiers evenly. For that you need to gain match. You would need a DMM to measure the output voltage to make sure they are equal, or use the DD-1+ which gives you a voltage readout, or use the CC-1 with its gain matching feature. Or if you have an oscilloscope, measure the output voltage and match the higher reading amplifier to the lower.
