CleanSierra Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 I don't trust the T/S parameters you listed. The Qts they have listed is ridiculously high. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
dolarbilz Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 I feel a good troll a give up.. Add power if that's what you want. Everybody here says box..
RainStryke Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 It's your enclosure, your box needs to be like twice as big and those atrend boxes are always tuned way too high. I have one of their boxes and it makes my sub sound like crap. I suggest looking into a local shop to build you one or build one your self. I didn't have access to any woodworking tools, so I had to buy a box. I got lucky and found this guy on eBay: http://www.northeastbassfactory.com/ He builds custom enclosures for a pretty fair price, you can list your subwoofer and get a quote... much cheaper than anything my local shop could provide me and it's a nice box.
Jman9112 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 I think its a typo on the webpage because every calculator I've ran those specs through gives me negative volumes and ridiculous tunings. Like -8.1ft3 and 10.4hz and weird stuff. Ballin' on a budget.
Jman9112 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 Another problem, I don't know what 2 12s in a truck are supposed to sound like. The only other guy I know with a sub in his truck like mine (ext. Cab) is a jl w3 in a jl box. His is setup way differently too. Ports facing the pass side and mine is forward with the subs. Ballin' on a budget.
Triticum Agricolam Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Where are you located at? "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
Jman9112 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 Rockford, Il Ballin' on a budget.
CleanSierra Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 My uncle and aunt live in Roscoe. I'll tell you this, the JL in that JL box will sound extremely good. Their enclosures are designed well for their subs to perform wonderfully. I think Soundstream is doing something like adding specs together per coil. I'll bet if you divide Qes, Qts, and Qms by 2, those are probably your correct numbers. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Jman9112 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 I'm guess that will change the enclosure recommendations drastically Ballin' on a budget.
Alex Coyne Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 If I was in your situation I would sell the subs and the box (box needs to be replaced and there's no point in building a custom box around an entry level soundsteam when you can just easily replace with something much better) With the money you made on that (along with the money you set aside for the amp) you could get two sundown e 12s with a nice custom box (they like ported enclosures and two of them in a custom box will slam and sound better than the soundstreams )
