So i started my bass addiction with two quantum 15" subs and a rockville rdx-m4 (1500 watt amp) i bought two sundown SA'18's and sold my quantums. My HU and rockville amp have been set up with a DD-1 so i know im clean. Im not having any issues with my rockville but i think my SA's prolly deserve a better amp ? My contenders are SQ Q1200.1 american bass ph4000 C.A.B 1600 FSD audio 1600 Execution audio 1500. Im asking if anyone has experience with any of these amps as they are all well suited to power my 18's once i start my build. Not sure if swaping out my current Rockville for any of these will be any better than what i already have, trying to stay under $300. Please share your experience with these amps listed or opinions you have.

What voice coil configuration did you buy?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

D4 subs so it will have to be a one ohm amp, which all those are listed as one ohm amps. Box is gonna be built 10 cubes net with 120-140 sqare inches of port area (still need to plug it in on my friends bass box pro to play with port area)

I think of those listed I would say cab 1600.

Still learning but have started gathering.

CAB 1600 is the cheapest out of all of them. I just wonder how "clean" it can play those low 28-40 HZ. I listen to alot of bass patrol, DJ magic mike, DJSNT, Decaf, bass mechnik. They have extended bass notes that drop below 40 Hz and hold that note for multiple seconds. I dont know much about amplifiers but some of the gut shots of the amps i listed seems like some have "less guts" than others... Im hope to get feed back from uses of these amps and how they did/didnt work for them.

I wouldn't buy any of the amps listed personally, with that budget I'd search for a quality used 2k or 2.5k Korean amp.

The FSD 1600 is koren board.... I guess i will just save my money. I really wish i was educated in amplifier componets. That way when i look at gut shots i know what im looking at, other than amp A has more guts than amp B....

Cab 1600 has 8 big capacitors and FSD 1600 has like 2-3 big capacitors. FSD looks like it has more guts than the CAB. CAB puts out some power but can it keep up on daily music 30-50 HZ ? i need more knowledge in amplifiers.

Moving from a 1500 watt amp to a 1600 watt amp is not going to give you any benefit at all.

Your amp is cheap but has already been proven to do rated power so getting another cheap amp that does the same power is pointless, go bigger or keep your money.

Those subs will take a 2.5k amp all day.

you should give information on your vehicle and also the alternator output, yes 300 could get you a used 2k+ but buying used is like playing russian roulette unless you know the person well.

some of the best places to buy used are amp repairmen, cuz at least you know the amp will prolly show up working at least heh
