So im planing ahead for a future purchase of a 2000 watt @ 1 ohm korean board amp..... I have a few personal contenders of my own, curious to see anyone elses suggestions. If possible under $450 and be current production.

Im slowly learning about korean, chinese, and brazilian board amps and decided a 2k korean board is gonna be best for my daily set up.

2000+ watts on substage alone is alot of current. What electrical upgrades have you made so far ? (in order to get full use of these amps your mostly likely looking at a good AGM battery and an aftermarket alternator).

I have a 1500 watt amp currently and my factory 136 amp ALT and standard battery are just barley adequate to do the job.

I plan on an quaility AGM battery under the hood, a kenetic in my truck tool box and a 180 amp ALT (or bigger 240 amp mechman) im just trying to get a options for a 2k korean to factor in the budget list.

Ive been eye balling the VFL.100 and i have experience with the SQ2200 (installed one in a G6 3 weeks ago)

Its gonna be a few months untill i upgrade my amp and electrical and my amp, trying to get ideas ahead of time so i pick and choose.

You could snag a used 3k amp of good quality in that price range.

Hell I've seen ampere 3800's go for about that.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I would love to run a 3k but the build im gonna do, 3k is about 2× more than what the subs are rated for. Trying to get longevity, prolly wont see a meter with this build.

You don't have to crank it to the max, it's all about that headroom.

Sound quality always benefits from having extra power on tap.

What 1500 watt amp do you have now

Rockville rxd-m4

Cert 1ohm 1267w 14.17vdc

Uncert 1ohm 1546w 13.73vdc

Dynamic 1ohm 2120w 14.81vdc

^^ those are the numbers off BigDWiz amp dyno he did last year. Had mine for 6 months and never had any problems. with my new build i think my two SA-18's deserve a better quality amp.

Just trying to plan ahead and save my money for some better quality.

Soundqubed 2200D $429 shipped

http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-22002-Amplifier_p_31.html

I've ran mine at 1 ohm for over a year full tilt every day with no problems

I have the big 3 and just a single d3400 up front 136 amp stock alt

Ive put my hands on alot of soundqubed equipment in the last month or two. I have a neighbor who does custom installs and loves soundqubed. I help him on the weekends, i basicly just run the wiring for him while hes fabricating. But the cool thing is i get to check out all the product he installs.
