Port Help ?

Going to add 2 ports to my box instead of 1 it's a small box 1.4qbs, The port calculator calls for a 4inch port 14inches deep ,now I want 2 ports so do I go with 2 , 2inch ports 7inches deep I'm confused.Tuned to 38hz

What sub and what kind of power? A single 6 inch might be better but the port area is dependent on keeping port velocity low enough to avoid chuffing. Generally speaking, when the port area increases the length also has to increase. Two ports will probably need to be around 20 inches etc. 1.4 cuff will have a hard time tuning low and keeping the port in the box.

So two 2" ports does NOT equal one 4" port. It takes four 2" ports, which is probably not what you want to do.

Depending on what sub you are using and how much power you are going to run a single 4" port may not be enough.

I appreciate all the help just went with a single port I can't believe all the math involved in adding a second port.

I'm running 3 ten inch DD shallow mount subs just thought I could run 2 ports in between the subs just for even flow but went with 1 sounds great . My amp is an American bass VFL 120.1 it's running at .6ohms.
