Ampere 3800's are great amps. I don't know enough about CT Sounds 4000.1's though.$540 for 2.8k watts seem steep ($) if the sub has 3k RMS rating I would give it 3k RMS from a reputable named amp company. Heck I wouldn't hesitate to put a 3.5k board on that sub and wang all day....provided you have electrical to support it I would sell that black ice if I were you, just me... Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 I would suggest a Twisted Sounds 2.8K, can't get much better than that for $540. I'm not a fan of strapping amps and those PPI BA amps are definitely over rated. I followed a few threads on a couple forums where they ran those amps through a lot of stress tests at .5OHM and they were barely breaking 2K with horrible efficiency. Every amp will have horrible efficiency wired at .5 ohm. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Yea man, it puts up hella good numbers on the amp dyno. Didn't realize that, seems like they just call a 3500 amp a 2.8k, lol.
