ctdv55
Maybe it's my inner audiophile, but ever since I've had my EX-L since October of 2014, the stock sound system just flat out sucks. After going back and forth for over a year on what approach to take with my build. I decided to skip the simple task of just replacing the door speakers and have the door panels redone completely. Last week I began the removing of the door panels, and while off decided to go ahead and add sound deadening to the doors. Ampere Audio Vibraflex 160mil was used in this process. As far as the door speakers go, I decided go with Rockford Fosgate's Punch Pro series 6.5"s (4 in each door) and the super tweeters (2 in each door) of the same. All speakers were purchased in single 8 ohm to allow use of a single 4 channel amplifier. (Ampere Audio 150.4)Another flaw I've found is the chore of having to use an Aux cord to play an external device. (I have yet to understand why Honda allowed for the use of bluetooth calling, but did not integrate the ability to stream music factory until 2013 [if my mind serves me right.]) The factory radio/cd changer is going to be replaced with an Alpine CDE-HD149BT with appropriate accessories purchased to allow use of SiriusXM and the steering wheel controls as well. An XS Power 2400 will be replacing the stock battery under the hood, along with a Mechman 320 Amp alternator to supply my sub stage that will begin shortly after my door panels are completed. Few pictures for proof of the process. Templates and actual door 'pods' coming together. Match up to see how everything will sit in place. More prep work"Replacement" light due to the factory location no longer existing. Test fit before going further in the process. How the door panels will look (hoping to vinyl wrap sometime today, will almost be a direct match to the factory door panel itself once completed.) One door down, one to go. To give credit where credit is due, James Taylor out of Birmingham, Alabama is the one doing all of my work, I've sent my vehicles to him numerous times since 2011 and am always blown away each and every time with the results that he turns out. The doors should be in and playing next weekend, and then it's off to the sub stage. Stay tuned, it's about to get wilder. 2010 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5 Sedan Mechman 320 Amp Alternator XS Power D2400 Alpine CDE-HD149BT Stinger RCA's Ampere Audio 150.4 4 Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5"s and 2 Super Tweeters Per Door (For now) Few goodies coming soon for the trunk.
