Inverting Subs?

Recommended Posts

qquestion, i kno most the air comes out the back of the sub...so if i invert it, will there be more pressure in the cabbin? and will it get just as loud as having them normal?...i have them normal now i guess, and REALLY wanna do a hair trick...i.e more pressure in the cab, so will inverting them change anything at all?

or am i just on crack, lol

leave them be you will get basket noise and not any more output. Plus for it to sound right you have to invert the polarity.

I am SO tired of seeing posts on this topic. do a fuckin search man. Inverting your subs does not change the sound.

A couple links to some box builds:

Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI,

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

My own car builds (current setup --- under construction):

Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors

Subwoofer Wall

Inverting the subs causes your box to see more airspace.

The motor structure of the sub is outside the box and the cone being rounded adds just that much more.

Plus, it looks really cool.

As far as I know.

Inverting lowers tuning slightly.

Not 100% on that so don't quote me.

The hairtrick ain't happening if it isn't already.

You get the new amp yet?

There is no difference, sound is air.

i heard the box tuning drops abot 2-3 dbs. Mine was built for 32 HZ with normal application and when inverted, it is now a box tuned at 29-30HZ
