While that post gets it mostly right, there is some stuff that's wrong there too. Stuffing a box lowers it QTC which flattens out the frequency response and lowers the F3 point, similar to what happens when you make the box bigger. However stuffing a box does not increase efficiency or increase cone excursion like making a box bigger does. Stuffing a box will cost you a little mid bass output, but gain you some on the low end.
