That card has all three types of outputs on it, Display Port, DVI and HDMI, and just use what your monitor has.

DVI has the port with screws on the ends, and the other two are pretty obvious as to what they are.

DVI socket is female, you would need a DVI male cable

Yeah, just get an adaptor to get it all connected up.

Took out the gpu and the integrated graphics came on. So the problem lies in the gpu

Might be a bad card, but glad you got it to come on and post to get it up and running.

Evga. If I never connected the gpu to the monitor wouldny the gpu overide the integrated graphics?

Gotta plug the monitor into your gpu to work from the card, and if you plug into the back of the MB you'll get the onboard graphics.
