hammerhead-ky Posted September 15, 2016 Author Report Posted September 15, 2016 if i knew a way to get really low and still have bandwidth in the space i had id be a very happy camper. i just dont know how else to get my lows other than tune stupid low and then build a music box because i want stronger bass after i get tired of it. either way i just need a new vehicle and new gear for now im buildin experimental boxes i suppose
kalilac619 Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Did some one say lows??? I get down to about 15hz before it starts rolling, but I think it has to do with the subsonic filter on the amp...15hz is just as strong as 20hz which does a 150+ but 14hz has strength to it but an audible funky sound and 13hz sounds weirder 2000 Suburban 6 runs of 2/0 12 JBL Pro audo mids ,6 timpano audio tweets and 1 Prv compression horn per door 475ah of yin long LTOs Triple 370 Amp Autotech Alts mids amps 2 Crescendo Skyway 3ks compreesion horn amp crossfire 800.4 Tweet amp Crossfire 2000.4 sub amp: 4 Crossfire XT 8ks Subs: 8 18 in Crossfires in a 4th order Best Scores at events… 163.5@38hz DBdrag sealed on the dash… 164.3 outlaw…162.9 Meca headrest
hammerhead-ky Posted September 16, 2016 Author Report Posted September 16, 2016 ive never done a 4th order before but wondering if i could fit one would a 1:1 or 1:1.5 ratio work out at all?
Triticum Agricolam Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 A bandpass box isn't going to get you any better low frequency output than a ported box is. DLHgn Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Also, i'm surprised no one has said this already, you should really get away from the whole port area to ft^3 idea. It's not very accurate and varies heavily on more factors than just the net volume. Like Triticum said, if you're looking for lows and don't mind a large box, try looking into Quarter Wave Transmission Lines. They're known to be very efficient and play stupid low depending on where it's tuned to. Just know that they get really big really fast.

A 6th order bandpass box gives two peaks, but they have their drawbacks, not the least of which is the amount of space they take up. True, OP i think is tight on space too, So thats probably not a good way to go for him. Still though, u think that is possible? Tuning so that both peaks to hit a super low frequency?

Triticum Agricolam Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Wish i could listen to one of those "T-Line" boxes. They do pretty much the same thing as a ported box does, its just a different way of doing it. I think a t-line would work well for what you want to do, but you just don't have the space.
