Drivers side tailight issue

Hey guys,

Recently had a roll pan installed on my 05 Escalade EXT. I had the bodyshop remove the stock license plate lights and replace them with some of those license plate bolt lights which work great. Both brake lights work and reverse lights. The only issue is the left brake light does not light up when its night out and when I click the key fob to unlock. Any idea the issue? Missing a ground? They also removed the trailer hitch which I didnt care to ever use.

Thanks guys

Maybe I can reword this so its makes more sense.

Both brake lights work when I apply the brakes.

Both reverse lights work.

Every function of the passenger side brake light works correctly.

The driver side brake light does not blink like it should when I lock my truck.

The driver side brake light also does not illuminate when its night time like the passenger side does.

I called the local Cadillac dealership and the parts guys was convinced its not a brake light sensor.

Still think its the brake light switch?

I put all new bulbs in both taillights and this did not fix the problem

Thanks!

You're diagnosing the wrong circuit. Your brake lights are working properly, it's the running light that is the issue. Brown wire, test it behind the tail lamp that is not working. It shares a ground with the brake/blinker light (blue wire), so it's probably grounded fine.

If there is no power on the brown wire behind the light you'll have to trace it back to the junction and test there.

Static drops are my bag.

Thanks jk13, It ended up being a bad fuse under the hood.
