Also, other computer I burned up a stick of RAM after 12 months which i can only assume because it was OC'd but IDK....so blue screening forced me into not waiting for the 1080Ti which i guess is fine. =( MOBO= Asus X99 CASE= Corsair 200R GPU= EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Super Clock edition PSU= Corsair 1000 watt Gold full modular CPU= Intel 5820k 6 core 28 lane RAM= G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 speed 16 gig (4x4) MOBO supports quad channel OS= Windows 10 Home 64 bit =/ SSD= Samsung 950 PRO M.2 256gig 240mm Liquid CPU cooler (should have went 280) =/ Monitor= http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236660 I cut corners on things to save money, such as... Motherboard is not Deluxe edition, Case...enough said, Power supply is not platinum or titanium, processor is not the 6800k or better/newer series but I did stick with 6 core Intel (I should have got a 40 lane though instead of 28 lane), for RAM I normally get Corsair Dominator but to save money I went with another brand with great ratings, Windows home is good enough for me...I was going to clone my old one but since I buy OEM for $99 I was like whatever. The 512 M.2 of this series was twice as much money and since I only keep Windows and Warcraft on the C drive 256 is fine for me, I use multiple Western Digital Black drives for storage. The things I knew I wanted at a minimum... Intel CPU, at least 6 core Asus brand MOBO Nvidia support, so thus 1080 GPU At least 16 gig of RAM and 3200 speed (I don't need 32 gigs) M.2 SSD Liquid cooled CPU again case with USB 3.0 on front other than that there was a lot of leeway for me, I did get all aftermarket 120mm and 140mm case fans (8 CFM). I spent way more on a monitor than I ever thought I would but it basically has everything (IMO) except 4K but I wanted a faster refresh rate than 60hz so 2k (165hz) it is..... I wanted to try the IPS technology and my current monitor is 24" so i needed to go bigger (27"). G-sync was a given, and I got slim bezel in case i want to add a monitor or two. I might grab a second 1080 and throw it in now for that upgrade down the road....thoughts???? I would like to hear your guys thoughts on everything. and yes i know there is better of everything and I know I could have gotten this or that but i chose everything i did for a particular reason. Little sticker thing to go on the case (I never use any of these anyway) is metal... I really like it, changed the whole "dailies" thing in a good way. Case is boring looking from the outside so pretty pointless to post pics. 165hz on monitor makes things soooo smoooooth. OC'd 21% and stable. Nothing DOA so I am happy. Performs like it should.
