Jeff4661 Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 Hello everyone, First off I've designed and successfully built quite a few enclosures. But I've never toyed with a 6th order Looking for input on what everyone uses to create low compression 6th order bandpasses? Any help or links would greatly be appreciated Current build 05 Yukon SLT http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195350-jeffs-05-yukong-wall-build/
DLHgn Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 If I'm not mistaken, both WinIsd and hornsrep can model 6th orders. Which ones specifically, I'm not sure.

I never even thought about using horns rep I've used that for a few tapped horns Win isd is alright I was just wondering about something else that may be better for the application Current build 05 Yukon SLT http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195350-jeffs-05-yukong-wall-build/
Triticum Agricolam Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 Like DLHgm said, HornResp can model both parallel and series tuned 6th order bandpass boxes. Its probably the best free option. audiofanaticz Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 I hate using Hornresp. I got to convert everything takes too long. Maybe I have a old version or something.

Everything is metric in HornResp which can be annoying, however you can select any field and hit F6 and it has a built in converter to imperial units. Makes it a lot easier. Jeff4661 Posted October 10, 2016 Author Report Posted October 10, 2016 Out of curiosity could a person use torres to figure out each side and just combine the two designs? The problem with doing that is Torres doesn't tell you port velocitys or box specs off of a given driver.. If you just needed to check the tuning of a 6ths chambers I assume it would work though Current build 05 Yukon SLT http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/195350-jeffs-05-yukong-wall-build/

If you just needed to check the tuning of a 6ths chambers I assume it would work though Yeah it would work with parallel tuned boxes. The problem with series-tuned boxes is the tuning interacts between the two chambers, the regular ported box methods don't work.
