Just found on a different site that people often use sheet metal screws.. I was thinking #10 3inch button head square drive would work... yall agree?

I use 2-1/2" #10 sheet metal screws. Either pan or button head, I prefer square drive if I can find them. Never had one break on me yet.

The reason I like #10 is that's the largest screw you can get with a head size 3/8" or less. Once the head gets over 3/8" of an inch they don't always fit some baskets well. I prefer square drive since you don't have to worry about the driver slipping out and stabbing through the surround as much. They don't strip out as easily either.

No matter what you go with, if you put some wax on the screw before you install it, it makes it a lot easier to screw into the wood.

The screws Steve sells are nice, but you typically have to drill out the basket holes a tad.

Since those are out of the option then I say SPAX.

Thats what all 4 of my BTLS are handing by in my 6th order bandpass.

A hair under 158db when all amps are in it and no issues with them, or any other builds I use them in.

They are also what I typically send along with my boxes too.

For #10 screws I use a 1/8" bit.

Just saying. What steve has are what I deal with everyday. Commercial roofing fasteners. Meant to drill thru steel, rubber, food, rock, sheetrock, etc. I use Firestone and they are a #12 or #14.

1 1/4" up thru 14". Can be found at most supply places that are for contractors. Awesome screws. Do predrill tho. They are big. And they will split the wood. Should never break on you tho.
